First bath???

Paige is a little over 7 months and she had her FIRST bath last night! That sounds terrible, but actually we have always showered her with one of us -conserve water, shower with a friend :-) right? The boys have also always been showered and it really makes our evenings less chaotic (they have never had a fear of "the shower" like a lot of kids do). As you can see she had a lot of fun splashing around with her toys.

Many Milestones this month . .

Riley is finally 5 and willing to tell anyone he comes across about it! He is continuing swim lessons and was prompt to tell his instructor today that he can now swim because "I'm 5", if only life were like that . . .
Birthdays never come and go in our home without huge celebration. This year we made a trip to Portland to the Children's museum where there was a Bob the Builder exhibit and the kids were able to climb, crawl and explore all over. That night, Jed's family came over for pizza and ice cream cake, as well as presents. Papa and Dode gave Riley a huge ball that he can climb inside and roll around the yard in (very much like a hamster ball). It's very wild! Then over the weekend we had a Spiderman party at the pumpkin patch and invited a few of Riley's friends. The kids had fun eating cake, petting the goats, riding the tractor, scavenging the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin and wrapping up with a trip down the hay slide!
Amongst all the chaos of Riley's birthday happenings, back to school stuff and soccer practices/games, Paige had mastered sitting up to enjoy the world and then quickly became bored with that, so she decided crawling (army style) was more "her thing". Needless to say we have to be on our game to keep her from ingesting some piece of a transformer or a few Legos!
